A trusted Fortnite leaker recently hinted at the upcoming new Jujutsu skins coming to the game, including an increase in DC collab skins.
Some recent leaks and rumours claimed that more Jujutsu Kaisen and DC collabs may be coming to Fortnite in the foreseeable future. According to notable Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR, they uncovered that there will be three new skins expected from a second wave of its Jujutsu Kaisen crossover. ShiinaBR shared their insights that DC has shifted its focus on collabs again following the recent news that MultiVersus Season 5 will be the last time players can enjoy the game online.
Fortnite players will remember the first Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration featured season 1 popular characters Yuji Itadori, Satoru Gojo, Nobara Kugisaki, and Megumi Fushiguro as skins. This first wave also included some popular moves from the series, such as Mythics: Hollow Purple and Straw Doll Technique. If this information is true on wave 2, this new collaboration could bring in new mythics or simply reintegrate the existing ones back in the game.
On social media, ShiinaBR claimed that the three new skins in its second wave will feature Ryomen Sukuna, Mahito and Toji Fushiguro from the anime series. The second season really highlighted these three characters and became fan favourites, so it would make sense to include them to build up hype in Fortnite.
As for the DC collaborations, this was almost a no-brainer for DC and Warner Bros. But ShiinaBR specifically pointed to Warner Bros. mentioning their “new tactic” for DC in gaming post-MultiVersus shutdown. The leaker noted that their new strategy would include “doubling down on collabs with other games again.”
DC already has many skins in Fortnite, so this move makes sense with the recent news of MultiVersus in mind. Current skins in Epic Games include the Joker, Harley Quinn, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman (various versions), and more heroes and villains. With the recent staff changes in handling the DC properties at Warner Bros., this would also be a great opportunity to link characters from James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC universe.
Other rumours have hinted that David Corenswet’s Superman could be coming to the game since the movie is coming later this summer, so this might be that first step. But this could also be an opportunity to bring the Creature Commandos characters into the battle royale, too, since that just finished airing on Max.
In related news, other rumours and leaks hinted that the latest Marvel skins collabs could see Red Hulk and Captain America squaring off in Fortnite in anticipation of the release of Captain America: Brave New World coming out later this month.
Collaborations between DC and Marvel are incredibly logical, as they represent the two powerhouse studios in the comic book film industry. The Jujutsu Kaisen collab could just be something cooking and might be dropped when season 3 of the anime airs or is fully out. Again, these are all potential leaks and predictions but there is some sound logic to these claims.
